Occupational Therapy Students Work at Les Amis des Enfants de Bethlehem<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Bethlehem University\u2019s third-year Occupational Therapy students participated in a two-day practical learning experience at Les Amis des Enfants de Bethlehem (Bethlehem Children\u2019s Friends Association) on April 8\u20139, 2025. The visit was organized as part of the \u201cCommunity-Based Rehabilitation\u201d course that aims to deepen students\u2019 understanding of psychomotor development through real-world application.<\/p>\n

The students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Nahida Ghattas, a representative of the association, who introduced the organization\u2019s mission and vision. The visit emphasized the critical role Les Amis des Enfants de Bethlehem plays in supporting children\u2019s development and well-being in the community.<\/p>\n

Ms. Myriam Abu Laban, General Director of the association, delivered an in-depth presentation on the principles and practices of psychomotor development. She outlined the structured approach the association uses to support children\u2019s physical, cognitive, and emotional growth through intentional, movement-based interventions.<\/p>\n

Students then had the opportunity to participate in hands-on psychomotor development sessions, actively engaging in activities designed to simulate the phases of a therapeutic intervention: introduction, activity, and closure. These experiences allowed students to deepen their understanding of how psychomotor therapy is implemented in real-life contexts and its relevance to occupational therapy.<\/p>\n

The visit concluded with a reflective group discussion, where students analyzed their observations and linked them to academic theories and therapeutic frameworks. The session promoted critical thinking and reinforced the value of community-based, client-centered care in occupational therapy.<\/p>\n
