This month’s board member spotlight is Bartholomew J. McGettrick. Bart is Chairman of the International Board of Regents of Bethlehem University and is a Board Member, Ex Officio, of Bethlehem University Foundation. Learn more about him below:

Bio:
Professor Bart McGettrick OBE, KGCHS is Emeritus Professor of Education and Dean Emeritus, of the Faculty of Education at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He was the first Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Glasgow (founded in 1451). Bart was Dean of the Faculty of Education and Professor of Christian Education at Liverpool Hope University. He is honorary President of the Association of Catholic Institutes for the Study of Education and was awarded the “Ex Corde Ecclesiae Medal” for services to Catholic University education.
Bart is Chairman of the International Board of Regents of Bethlehem University (Palestine). He holds other positions in international groups and committees in education and beyond. In 2015, Bart was appointed to the Vatican Board – St John The Baptist to oversee the work of the Catholic Church in The Middle East in educational and cultural matters. He is an honorary member of The Grand Magisterium of The Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem having served on the Grand Magisterium since 2003. Bart is currently President of The Holy Land Commission and formerly Chairman of the Schools Commission for The Holy Land.

Bart spends his summers in St. Andrews, Scotland – the home of golf!
