Building Bridges: Yumna Al-Jabari

Alumna Opens Dialogue Between Communities in Jerusalem

Yumna Al-Jabari graduated from Bethlehem University in 2025 with a degree in English Language and Literature. Today, she works at The Jerusalem Foundation, helping launch the third year of the Bridging Horizons project for schools, which creates connections and brings students from different communities together to learn and grow.

“Being part of this journey has been inspiring,” Yumna says. “It’s exciting to continue building bridges across communities and shaping the opportunities for a brighter future.”

For Yumna, this work builds directly on what she learned at BU. “My time at the university was more than academics. It was about learning resilience, building confidence, and discovering my potential,” she reflects. “The skills, values, and mindset I gained allowed me to step into the professional world even before completing my degree, a testament to the strength of the university’s programs and the trust employers place in its graduates.”

She chose Bethlehem University for its academic reputation and its diverse, discrimination-free environment. “What I love most is the university’s sense of unity,” she says. That same commitment to unity now shapes her work in Jerusalem, where she’s helping create spaces for dialogue and collaboration across communities.

“Graduating was not just the closing of one chapter,” Yumna says. “It was the start of a journey that has shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. This journey has taught me that education is not only about earning a certificate; it’s about becoming someone ready to take on challenges, grow continuously, and contribute meaningfully.”

Yumna is deeply grateful to Bethlehem University for being a defining part of her story, and she’s excited for another year full of impact in the heart of the Holy Land.
