Western Lieutenancy of EOHSJ Connects with Students

BU Student Ambassadors Strengthen Ties with Long-Time Friends

On Friday, April 24, 2026, Bethlehem University Student Ambassadors gathered virtually with members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, USA Western Lieutenancy.

Though a pilgrimage to the Holy Land was not possible this year, the distance did not prevent a meaningful encounter. What emerged was something simple and profound: a moment of listening, presence, and shared care across continents.

Students spoke openly about their daily lives—the challenges they face and the hope that carries them forward. Those gathered were more than supporters; they were companions—friends who continue to walk with them in faith and solidarity.

Among them were Dame Wynsdey Adams, Deacon Ryan Adams, Deacon Chuck McDaniels, Dame Linda McDaniels, Dame Joann Lazar, Sir Larry Lazar, Dame Kristy VanCleve, Dame Ann Dickson, and Sir Frank McKown. While they had hoped to visit in person, this gathering became its own kind of pilgrimage—one rooted in relationship.

Student ambassador Ghassan Altawil shared that moments like this remind students they are not alone—that others across the world see them, believe in them, and walk alongside them.

In a time of uncertainty, such encounters offer quiet strength and enduring hope.

Other Lieutenancies of the EOHSJ who wish to share in a similar moment of encounter with Bethlehem University students are warmly invited to contact Bethlehem University Foundation USA to learn more.
