Start of Spring Semester ’24

Bethlehem University started the spring semester today. BU continues to operate in a hybrid situation, with campus open for students and faculty that can safely make it for classes. However, more students were spotted on campus today thanks to Bethlehem University’s effort to make learning accessible during these unstable times.
BU’s Student Senate has arranged for a bus to take students from East Jerusalem to Beit Jala. The IOF has closed the entrance into to Bethlehem, so students have to cross on foot and taxi the remainder of the way to campus.
For one student who decided to go to campus, it took almost three hours to travel roughly 6 miles (10 km) this morning. Other students continue to attend classes online through the equipment that was raised this past Giving Tuesday.
